Embrace Your Beauty

A blog about my obsession with makeup.

Feeling like a colorful kind of day. :)

Hey guys!

So I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot for a friend this weekend. I had so much fun coming up with a make-up look for the shoot, not to mention all the posing, that was fun too. Never did a photo session that solely concentrated on me, so I felt pretty special. :)

Anyways, enough about me, lets get to make-up. I did a neutral smokey eye with a clean edge. And since the eyes were a bit dramatic, I finished off the look with a neutral lip and gloss. Most of the products I used are affordable drugstore products.

Eyes: I did a very light shimmery pink for the tear duct area, a pale matte pink for the center. I smoked out those colors with a light brown and blended it up toward the brow bone. I took a shimmery medium brown for just the crease area and blended. The brush I used fore crease area had somewhat stiff bristles for more control. I used this same brush to apply the black on the outer V of my eye, but before I applied the black, I used a piece of tape and aligned it as close as I could to my lower lash line to create that clean cut edge effect. Then I blended the black to diminish any harsh lines. I also highlighted the brow bone with the same shimmery pink that I used for the tear duct mixed with a matte white shadow. I also applied the light brown to all of my lower lash line, the medium matte brown to the outer half of the eye and a black to the outer fourth of the eye. After that I lined my water line with a white pencil liner, tight lined my eyes with a black, and lined my upper lash line creating a cat-eye shape. Then coat your lashes with your favorite mascara, and put on your favorite falsies.

Beauty addict on a budget?

Yup that’s me, and I’m sure many of you out there are also in love with all these cosmetics that you simply cannot get a hold of or just can’t afford at the time. Today, I found this awesome website that lets you find the dupe of your favorite high-end product. Not only that, but it tells the % of similiarity the dupe is to the original. Pretty handy tool if you ask me. So next time, you don’t want to overspend or just don’t have a Sephora nearby, check out this site and recreate your looks using more affordable products. You may even have money left over to buy an outfit with that new look of yours ;). Hope you all enjoy!

Got my February Glam bag!!! I’m so excited to try these products out. Last month’s bag was pretty rockin’ too, but it didn’t quite live up to my cosmetic wants. lol. This one, however, is really great. I got:
Ipsy Lash Cards
Pixi Flawless and Poreless Face Primer
Pop Beauty Mascara in Smoky Black
Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Sample Set in Glitz & Glamour
Mica Beauty Cosmetics Gel Liner in Black
Out of all the products, I gotta say the gel liner is one that I’m really looking forward to using. It has really good quality glass packaging, and seems like it will definitely make the product last longer. I wonder how it compares to the Wet n Wild gel liner…
Well guys, I’m going to test these bad boys out and possibly do a review on these products soon. :)
XOXOXOXO,
Gabriela

This is what I came up with when experimenting with my E.L.F. Studio 100 palette after watching a tutorial by Marlena founder of Make-up Geek Cosmetics (How to pair eye shadow colors like a pro). Anyways I really like the pigmentation of the E.L.F. shadows for this look. A-mazing. :)

Happy New Years!

I had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Years with the family. I didn’t party or anything like that, I spent those day hanging out with some of the most important people in my life, which was great. <3

I did get some make-up for Christmas though! I got the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, and the Bobbi Brown Uber Nude Lip and Eye Palette (a super small travel sized palette great for creating those natural looks on the go).

I need to get better at updating my blog…. it gets hard especially since I don’t have internet at my house. :/ I shall find a way.

Love,

Gabriela
